Wentworth works with a number of community based, non-government and government organisations to deliver a range of housing and accommodation support projects in outer western Sydney. Wentworth welcomes enquiries from support agencies wishing to discuss partnerships.
Workers visit rough sleepers on their home turf — a squat, a cafe or a park — to encourage taking the first steps towards permanent housing. This flexible approach has proved effective in reaching people who are isolated from mainstream housing options.
Wentworth, along with a number of other local services, collaborates to coordinate quarterly Homeless Hubs in Penrith, Hawkesbury and the Blue Mountains Local Government Areas. The Hubs provide the opportunity for individuals living rough to access a variety of services, information and practical assistance and materials. These could include Centrelink, housing agencies, financial services, medical assistance, clothing and personal needs.
